A Special
Note to Duke's and Our Friends
|
| To all of Dukes friends and our friends through him, Every
once in a while a Dog comes along that is not just owned by the peoples whos name
appears on the registration papers, or whos home they happen to live in. But, who
seems to belong to the Dog People in general we are so proud to be a part of.
John and I have over the many years of being in this Sport, had the advantage to be
connected with a few of these dogs, personally. Dave and Sheilas, Teeter, one of the
Special ones who seemed to have a distinct relationship with so many of us who knew her,
(Aunt Noreen, always had the better bait to give to her Dad for groups & BIS
competition). |
|
| Betty and Rodney Wares Tabitha, whom John and I had the delight to
be at her first Best In Show and share the excitement of the day and continued to be
privileged to share her accomplishments with them from that day until her passing. Sarah
Mejliks, Honey and Twilite, two very different girls in disposition, but both so
similar in their achievements. Dick and Gerry Dalakians Gypsy, the thrill of
watching her move around the group rings still bring chills down my spine. And, of course,
Clarence (Dud) and Glady Dudleys Trio; Clipper, Star and Varska to whom
we were so very close. The tribute paid to us in choosing us care for Varska in his later
years, still is emotional for John and I. For John and I the passing of these dogs
brought us a special pain when we learned of their leaving this earth, for they had taken
a piece of our hearts with them, leaving a mark on us as one of our own does.
For those of you who felt some of this for Duke we thank you for giving him a little
piece of your heart, for that we are very grateful and overwhelmed to have shared one of
those dogs "owned by many".
Sincerely,
John and Noreen Rosi
